These buttons were created with thin slices from specialized animal canes, which cover a heart shape "pillow form". Animal skins are the new trend again in the fashion industry. These are only a sampling of many skin designs, including cow, zebra, and snake skins. Buttons have metal shanks on the reverse side, which have similar patterns. Animal skins are the new trend again in the fashion industry. These are only a sampling of many skin designs, including cow, zebra, and snake skins. The brooches are reinforced with an additional polymer applique on back. (see upper right photo) Really effective when a variey of brooches are placed together on a sweater or jacket lapel!

Mica Shift is an amazing technique that creates a three dimensional effect in a flat sheet of clay. This effect is created by manipulating the mica flakes in the clay.
